Protests erupt outside Kasba Police station as 3 arrested in alleged Kolkata college gang rape
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday revealed that nine terrorist hideouts in Pakistan were destroyed in just 22 minutes during India’s airstrikes under Operation Sindoor. Speaking at a rally in Gandhinagar, he emphasized that the entire operation was recorded to prevent any demands for evidence, a reference to past political controversies.
"This is no longer a proxy war," Modi declared. "When terrorists are buried with Pakistan’s flags and receive military salutes, the world must understand—it’s an official war strategy, not shadow warfare." His remarks came weeks after the May 6 attack in Pahalgam, which killed 26 people and prompted India's response.
Modi described Operation Sindoor as a swift and decisive strike, asserting that India had sent a clear message: while it desires peace, it will not hesitate to act when provoked. He added that the precision and transparency of the operation, including camera footage, proved India’s intent and capabilities.
The prime minister also pointed to the public funerals of the slain terrorists in Pakistan as proof of state complicity. He said Pakistan’s military saluting these militants exposed the fact that terrorism has become part of the country's official doctrine.
Before the rally, Modi held a massive roadshow in Gandhinagar as part of his two-day visit to Gujarat—his first since the Operation Sindoor airstrikes. The visit included stops in Vadodara, Bhuj, and Ahmedabad, where crowds welcomed him with waving flags and chants of support.
